Direct Billing Services
Direct Billing services include the billing, collection of premiums,
remittance of premiums, eligibility file maintenance and termination of
coverage for client employees who are continuing their health or other
insurance coverage on a self-pay basis, but not under the COBRA
regulations. Examples of this type of continuance would be retirees,
surviving spouses, or employees on leave of absence or disability who are
permitted to retain the coverage on a self-pay basis. Aurora Administrative
Solutions, Ltd. manages the entire process from notification of eligibility
to continue on a self-pay basis to the termination of coverage or transfer
to a COBRA status for the client employer. These administrative services
include notification to participants of eligibility to continue
participation in the benefit plan on a self-pay basis, collection, tracking
and remittance of the premiums, and eligibility maintenance to the health
care plan provider. If the self-pay retiree has a monthly pension benefit
check, Aurora Administrative Solutions, Ltd. can manage the payment of the
premiums via pension check deduction.
